CEO'S MESSAGE

Located at the gateway between Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley, where different cultures and traditions meet, Alhambra Hospital Medical Center's mission is to cater to the needs of patients from diverse ethnic groups, including mainstream, Asian and Hispanic communities. AHMC staff communicate in multiple languages, and are trained to be sensitive and respectful of our patients' physical, emotional, spiritual and cultural needs. Our patient menus, our signage, and even our meditation garden, are specifically designed to respect our multicultural clientele.

Alhambra Hospital Medical Center is a general acute care hospital with 144 patient beds. Our medium size allows a close working relationship between our employees and our physicians, which facilitates intimate, personalized and safe patient care. At the same time, our hospital is large enough to provide a full array of services, from Emergency and Critical Care, to Acute Rehabilitation and long-term care in our Subacute Unit.

As a community hospital, we are always challenging ourselves to ascend to the next level. Our vision statement expressly states our desire to become one of the leading hospitals in the San Gabriel Valley by providing integrated and affordable care to our patients. And there are many signs we are on the right path:

For many years, our Acute Rehabilitation Center was awarded "TOP Performer" status from among the 800 acute rehabilitation facilities nationwide.
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services currently ranks AHMC among the top four hospitals in California in preventing Hospital-Acquired Conditions (HACs).
Recently, Alhambra Hospital Medical Center was named to the nation's 100 Top Hospitals® and one of the top 20 Medium-size community hospitals by Truven Health Analytics™, a leading provider of data-driven analytics and solutions to improve the cost and quality of healthcare. This prestigious award is given to hospitals that represent the highest national standards in hospital care and management.

We are also extremely pleased to highlight our Wellness Club, one of the largest and most active preventative health outreach programs in the San Gabriel Valley. With over 4,000 members, this program has screened thousands of people for hypertension, diabetes, hepatitis, early heart disease, and even prostate cancer. Our Wellness Club has definitely made a difference in our community.

Alhambra Hospital Medical Center is dedicated to serving the communities of the San Gabriel Valley. AHMC is here for you twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.

Sincerely,

Iris Lai, Chief Executive Officer
